In 2002, Todd and his husband, Gino, opened the first Foursided store in Lakeview, expanding to Andersonville a few years later. Together, they grew the business to five locations, including two picture framing stores and three gift shops, employing 40 people.

Among Todd’s many contributions to the Chicago community, one of his most enduring legacies is the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. As a founding member, he played a pivotal role in transforming the festival into one of the most celebrated art events in the Midwest. Todd also served on the board of the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce from 2004 to 2012, including a term as president from 2009 to 2010.

Remembering Todd Mack

A passionate antiquing enthusiast, Todd traveled widely—from Michigan to California—amassing a remarkable collection of vintage treasures and natural artifacts. His appreciation for the beauty in both the forgotten and the natural world was evident in everything he did. Todd’s eye for antiques and his reverence for nature shaped both his personal life and his creative endeavors.

As a lover of animals, Todd ensured that every Foursided location had dog treats available outside, offering a warm welcome to all furry visitors. His commitment to kindness and hospitality extended to his employees, customers, and the wider community.

Todd’s creativity knew no bounds. His original collage artwork and framing techniques amazed those who encountered them, often prompting the exclamation, "Holy smokes, how’d he do that?!" He was a mentor to countless artists, offering both formal and informal guidance to help them develop their own craft. Through numerous art openings, he showcased a diverse range of art and artists, striving to make art accessible and affordable while promoting small makers.

In his stores and at home, Todd was always surrounded by a constant flow of projects in various stages of completion. He lived and breathed art, injecting humor and lightness into his work, and was known for his witty, playful nature that was reflected in both his art and his relationships.

A celebration of Todd's life will be held on Sunday, January 26, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a service of remembrance starting promptly at 1:00 PM at Artifact Events, 4325 N Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago, 60625.

All Foursided locations will be closed on January 26 in honor of Todd’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Todd's memory to the Chicago Diabetes Project at www.chicagodiabetesproject.org.
